Biological indicator and test pack that monitors the effectiveness of the steam sterilization process and provides results within 48 hours. Includes biological indicator, test pack, incubator and log book.Biological indicator provides the best assurance of sterility by challenging the sterilizer with quantifiable, highly resistant spores. Biological indicators are used for load control monitoring which is the process by which a load is monitored and released based on the result of a biological indicator (BI) in a test pack. Biological indicator vials are easy-to-use, and interpret with visual color readout in 48 hours. Self-contained biological indicators significantly reduce possibility of contamination, minimizing false positives and assuring more accurate results. Can eliminate recalls when used in every load. Test packs present a challenge to the sterilization process as do the AAMI recommended test packs.
