This product functions as a hyper-osmotic laxative drawing water into the bowel from surrounding areas of the body. Docusate sodium acts as a softener by preparing the stool to readily mix with watery fluids in the body. Benzocaine anesthetizes the rectum and lower bowel to help prevent hyperreflexia crisis or painful bowel movements. Provides safe, fast and effective relief of constipation. Active ingredients: Docusate Sodium 283mg (stool softener) and Benzocaine 20mg (topical anesthetic). Inactive ingredients: Medicinal soft soap base of Polyethylene Glycol and Glycerin.
