Smith and Nephew's new Allevyn™ Life is a multi-purpose, foam dressing that features a wide border for a secure, human-shaped fit. Allevyn™ Life is ideal for exuding wounds and pressure ulcers. The silicone adhesive border is gentle on the skin. The foam wound dressing consists of five layers: Silicone adhesive, hydro cellular foam, hyper absorbent padding layer, protective layer, and a breathable top film. It is easy to apply and remove, and can be repositioned without loss of adherence. The sacrum dressings can be worn up to 5 days and up to 7 days for other wound locations (depending on the wound and exudate level). Unique ergonomically shape designed to fit the contours of the body so it conforms securely, and allows the patient to shower. Excellent absorbency and fluid locking ensures minimal leakage and odor. Special masking layer reduces visible strikethrough. Design offers an indication of when a dressing change is needed without unnecessary removal. Extra cushioning spreads pressure and protects from knocks and bumps. Easy to apply and minimizes pain and discomfort on removal.
